The design of this stand is for benchtop Wen wood lathes. However, it is compatible with almost any brand or model of mini lathe or midi lathe. This adaptability is because of its versatile mounting grid.

This adjustable steel stand weighs just over 50 pounds. It can support up to 225 pounds. This unit costs $100 and has an almost 5-star rating. Additionally, it has high ratings for being sturdy and stable, quick and easy to assemble, and great value for the money.

I recently purchased this Wen lathe stand for my Jet midi lathe. I agree it’s sturdy, easy to put-together, and the best bang for the buck. Like I’ve seen other woodworkers comment in reviews, I’ve been building my stand out. The wooden table surface I added gives extra support (and storage). The reinforcement helps stabilize and reduce flex on any adjustable lathe stand. The addition of the platform also gives me room for my turning tools and a drawer for my chucks. But that’s another post.

If you’re looking for a bigger lathe stand, there is an extension kit available through Wen’s website.

Conclusion

If you have a benchtop Wen wood lathe, this stand is a great option. It’s also a great option for woodturners with any brand of mini or midi wood lathe. And of course, it’s the one I recently chose and would recommend.
